Many people crumble under pressure, especially when competing against the best in the industry.  To be successful, a person must overcome the fear of tough competition and craft the perfect mindset to perform at the top of their game and against others who are at the top of theirs.

The Florida-based company, Florida Business Consulting hosted a workshop, inspired by the advice from US Olympic athletes, about how to perform under pressure and how that separates the average from the extraordinary.

The firm shares some of the mental tricks used by the athletes that were outlined in the workshops.

Allyson Felix - the 30-year-old track-and-field star learned to tune out distractions to ensure she remains extremely focused.  She trains her mind to be able to ‘dial in’ to what she has to do.

Michael Phelps - the all-time greatest swimmer, has the mental strength to visualize a plan for every scenario so that when he swims a race, he has already programmed his nervous system to do one of those.

Lexi Thompson - the youngest golfer to play in the US Women’s Open calms herself with positive thoughts and uses a breathing technique to calm herself on the golf course and get rid of any negative thoughts before taking a shot.

Daryl Homer - a 26-year-old fencer, uses positive self-talk and before a match, takes the time to reassure himself that he's the best and the greatest and to make sure he stays in the moment.

Garrett Weber-Gale - the 31-year-old swimmer, just doesn't even consider losing. He puts his trust in his body, his training and his coach to ensure he feels confident in his preparation to go out and win.

Florida Business Consulting’s CEO, Eric Martin, frequently hosts educational workshops to develop their contractors and staff.  The company educate them on how training the mind is just as important as learning skills and knowledge.

Florida Business Consulting is a dynamic and professional promotions and sales agency based in Miami.  The company develop dynamic promotional campaigns for a range of national clients throughout the USA.
